Notice of Property Tax Increase 2016
NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE
The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Acworth have tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 6.10 percent.
All concerned citizens are invited to a public hearing on this tax increase to be held at Acworth City Hall, 4415 Senator Russell Avenue, Acworth, GA 30101 on July 7, 2016 in the Council Chambers at 7:00 PM during a Regular Meeting in the Council Chambers.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase will be heard in the Council Chambers at Acworth City Hall, 4415 Senator Russell Avenue, Acworth, GA 30101 on July 21, 2016 at 9:00 AM and on July 21, 2016 at 6:45 PM at a Special Called Meeting. The millage rate will be adopted at Regular Meeting on July 21, 2016, following the public hearing at 6:45 PM.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 7.60 mills, an increase of 0.437 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 7.163 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $150,000 is approximately $26.22 and the proposed tax increase for non‐homestead property with a fair market value of $250,000 is approximately $43.70.
